Bring ‘em Young

Before I start, I want to say that I am fond of the Mormon people. I have been thrust repeatedly into the bowels of the saints and have found no better tribe upon the face of the earth. So, let us begin with the wisdom of Sherlock Holmes. When you consider all possibilities and remove the impossible, whatever is left, no matter how improbable, is the truth.   We are all born with a “God Hole” in our brain. That strand of DNA that questions life and it’s surroundings. Man looks at a situation and asks, “Why?” And a child has plenty of choices as to the answer to that question. Most of the answers are bitter pills because life, in and of itself, is a bitter pill. Most of our lives we struggle to turn pain into pleasure. Pleasure and dopamine run out and we return to square one.   There is a rare individual who can find an answer, a rarer one who can keep the answer and the rarest who can convince others that he has the answer. Such an individual was Joseph S...

Put the “Board” Back Into the Board of Education

Number two. That’s how many teens we’ve lost in the last thirty days to school violence. I’ll tell you; I’m not going to miss the Board of Education! In actuality it was a kind of switch blade. Apparently, the dead girl had been bullying her attacker. The killed was on suspension and showed up in the hall during a class change. The EMS was proud to announce they got there in seven minutes. Fire house was in the neighborhood. If you consider the wound and the time it took to make the 911 the girl was probably dead when they arrived. The students have...

And man became a living soul.

1  Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, 2  Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word; 3  It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, 4  That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed. As you may see, these are not my words. They are the opening of the Gospel According to Luke. According , not the original autograph. Oral tradition, pasted down from generation to generation with some writings, notes and statements from eyewitnesses who were most likely advanced in age and not elevated in the Jewish hierarchy prevailing at the time. So,  whomever “Luke” was, he felt compelled to take quill in hand at great risk to compile what he believed to be an accurate...
